Glancing through some CDs received in the mail this past year, we noticed something pretty phenomenal about GRAMMY© 24, the album recorded by 2016 Grammy© Band and Choir participants–it turns out that a whopping 25 percent of all the solos on the entire album were taken by New York Jazz Academy alumni. The Grammy© Band and Choir are comprised of approximately 30 total students from all over the country, from a pool of thousands of applicants, all coming together to form the ultimate high school honor jazz band and choir, at a national level.

Why do we bring up this statistic? Well, firstly, we are immensely proud of our students’ achievements. Secondly, are also always looking for new students, young and old, to join NYJA. If you or someone you know is interested in carving a path, developing musical craft, we invite you to contact us for a free assessment and advise on next steps for joining our programs.

Our students are in great hands here, with an immensely talented and dedicated faculty, all within a community of devoted musicians, collaborating with each other in an effort to take jazz to the next level.
